WEBSITES FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM BUSINESSES
Understood first. Built second.
“That’s not what I asked for.”
WE HEAR THAT A LOT. SO: You approve it before it launches.
Most website projects go wrong before any code is written, because the builder never understood what the owner was asking for. Turning what a business needs into something that can be built is what we did for a living. Now we do it for small business, at a fixed price agreed in writing.
- A design in the first week
- Plain English, no jargon
- You talk to the people doing the work
- Security checked before launch
- We say so if it cannot be done
- Yours to keep
Speak developer? You shouldn’t have to.
How it usually goes
You describe what you want as best you can. The developer hears something slightly different. You see the finished site for the first time near the end. You have already paid, so you live with it.
How it goes with us
A 30-minute call, in your words.
No jargon and no forms to fill in. We ask about your customers and your day, because that tells us more than a list of website features.
This is where most projects skip ahead. We do not.
A written scope in plain English.
Within three business days you get every page and feature written down: what the site will do, what it will not, and what it costs. You read it and correct it before you have paid anything.
If we misunderstood you, this is where you catch it.
A real design in the first week.
You see your own home page within a week of starting, then the whole site grows on a private preview link you can open any time.
No big reveal at the end.
Two rounds of changes, built in.
Every package includes them. You look at the preview, tell us what is not right, and we change it.
Changing your mind is part of the job.
Nothing goes live until you say so.
You pay 40% to start and the remaining 60% at launch. Launch happens when you have approved the site.
You never pay the balance for a site you do not like.
Tell us what you want. We’ll show you the plan.
I have no website
“People keep asking if I have a website and I just send them to Facebook.”
What we write down
- Five pages: what you do, where you work, a price guide and how to reach you
- An enquiry form that lands in your email, with a map and opening hours
- Your own web address, registered in your name
What we tell you straight
A new site will not top Google overnight. We set up the basics properly and tell you which results take time.
Customers keep ringing to book
“I spend half my day on the phone taking bookings, and I miss the ones who call after hours.”
What we write down
- Online booking on the site, connected to the booking tool you already use
- A confirmation to the customer and a notice to you for every booking
- Your services, prices and hours, which you can edit yourself
What we tell you straight
If your current booking tool cannot connect to a website, we tell you before you pay and suggest one that can.
It was built cheaply and keeps breaking
“A relative built it with one of those AI tools. The contact form stopped working and I’m not sure it’s safe.”
What we write down
- A review of what is broken and whether customer details are exposed
- A plain answer on repair or rebuild, with a fixed price for each
- If it is a rebuild: same web address, every old page redirected
What we tell you straight
Sometimes a repair is cheaper than a rebuild. When it is, that is what we recommend.
I can’t update my own site
“Every time I need to change a price I have to email someone and wait a week.”
What we write down
- A rebuild on a system where you edit words, photos and prices yourself
- A one-hour walkthrough and a written guide at handover
- Your old content moved across, with the logins in your name
What we tell you straight
Editing it yourself covers everyday changes. New pages and features are still a job for us, quoted first.
We run on spreadsheets
“Orders come in by email, by text, sometimes over the phone. They go into a spreadsheet, and then someone retypes them into the accounts.”
What we write down
- A paid discovery first: we map how the work moves today and where the time goes
- A written specification and a fixed quote before any build starts
- One place for every order, however it arrived, with staff logins and no retyping
What we tell you straight
Not everything is worth automating. Discovery tells you which parts pay for themselves and which do not.
No overpromising.
Plenty of business owners have been overpromised to, overcommitted to, or simply lied to by someone they hired. We would sooner lose the job than do that. We are here to add something real: to build what you asked for, so you can run and grow your business.
What you may have heard before, and what you hear from us
- You may have heard:
“Yes, we can do all of that.”From us: If it cannot be done, we say so before you pay. - You may have heard:
“It will be ready next week.”From us: You get a date we can keep, and we tell you as soon as anything changes it. - You may have heard:
“You need the bigger package.”From us: If something smaller or cheaper does the job, that is what we recommend.
When the job grows halfway through.
You will think of new things once you see your site taking shape. Everyone does, and it is where most website budgets blow out. Builders call it scope creep. With us, the day you ask for something outside the written scope, we tell you it is outside. You get a fixed price and what it does to your launch date, in writing. Then it is your call.
Swipe sideways for all three.
Add it now
You approve the price and the new date, and we build it in.
Save it for after launch
Your launch date holds. It goes on a list, and we quote it when you are ready.
Leave it
Nothing changes and nothing is charged.
What is not an extra. Adjusting what we already agreed is covered by your two rounds of changes. Anything in the written scope that we missed is ours to fix, at no cost to you.
It cuts both ways. We do not slip extras in for free, and we never bill you for something you did not approve.
Prices in the open.
Every job gets one fixed price in writing before you pay anything. This is where they start.
- Starter sitefrom $6,000Live in 3 to 4 weeks
- Business sitefrom $10,000Live in 4 to 6 weeks
- Store or member sitefrom $18,000Live in 6 to 8 weeks
- Care after launchfrom $150A month, and optional
Prices exclude GST. Timelines count from the day your content arrives. Custom systems start from $30,000, after a paid discovery.
Security starts on day one of the build.
A site is made safe when it is designed, not patched up afterwards. We learned that in data loss prevention, which is the work of stopping sensitive information from leaking out of an organisation.
Straight answers.
Ask us what you would ask on the phone.
Can I get a website for less?
Yes. Plenty of builders charge a few thousand dollars, and for a simple page that can be the right choice. Our price covers the work around the build as well as the build: getting the scope right before anything is made, and checking security before anything goes live. That is the part that decides whether you end up happy with the result.
How long will it take?
A Starter site is live in 3 to 4 weeks, a Business site in 4 to 6, and a store or member site in 6 to 8. The clock starts the day your content arrives, so part of the timeline is in your hands.
What do you need from me?
Four things: 30 minutes on the first call, a read of the scope to correct anything we got wrong, your content, and your feedback once the preview is up.
Will it work on phones?
Yes. Every site is built for the web first and optimised for phones, and you can open the preview link on your own phone to check.
Who owns the site?
You do. Your web address, hosting and code sit in accounts in your name, and you can leave at any time with no exit fee.
What happens after launch?
Faults are fixed free for 30 days and the first month of care is free. After that, a care plan keeps the site patched, backed up and watched, from $150 a month. It is optional.
Do you use AI to build?
Yes, but not the way most people do. We are software engineers first. The AI works inside tools and rule sets we built ourselves, which hold it to our engineering and security standards, and one of us reviews every change before it goes live. Typing a request into a chatbot and publishing whatever comes back has a name, vibe coding, and it is how sites end up broken or leaking customer details.
Ask something else
Two people who used to sit on your side of the table.
Between us we have 30 years of experience in the roles that stand between the people who need something and the people who build it. There is no account manager in between: you talk to the people doing the work.

Tell us what you need, in your own words.
The first call is free and takes 30 minutes. You get a written scope and a fixed quote within three business days, and if we are not the right fit we will tell you.
